An exploitation is a planet-based improvement that improves one of that planet's rate of resource () production per . This can dramatically improve the effectiveness of resource production at a very low cost.
All exploitations cost 40 to build. They have no upkeep cost.
Overview[]
Each exploitation gives +1 to +3 of its resource per , depending on level. In addition, the bonus may be up to doubled depending on the exploitation, its level, and the planet type it is on; for example, Terran planets get double bonuses from exploitations.
There is one type of exploitation for each of the four basic resources. Each type of exploitation has three levels, the upper two being unlocked by technology. When a new exploitation level is unlocked, all exploitations of that type are instantly upgraded at no cost.
Due to their extremely low cost and potentially powerful effects, they are almost always the first things one should build in a system. Only one exploitation can be on a planet at a time; if a new one is built, it replaces the old one.
Exploitations by planet type[]
Each tier of exploitation provides higher bonuses, to a wider range of planets.
- 3 icons - +100% (doubled) bonus on all tiers of exploitation.
- 2 icons - +50% bonus from the second tier, +66% bonus from the third tier.
- 1 icon - +33% bonus, only on the third tier.

Exploitations by resource[]
The planet column means that any planet with the exploitation gets this standard bonus. The specific planets that are listed get additional bonuses on top of the standard bonus. For example, Terran with Hyper Scale Farms gets +6 per in total (+3 to begin and then +3 additional).
